CBSE Makes Three Languages Mandatory for Class IX Students

Central Board of Secondary Education has made the study of three languages compulsory for Class IX students from July 1 under the National Education Policy 2020. At least two of the three languages must be native Indian languages.

The board clarified that there will be no Class X board exam for the third language, as its assessment will remain school-based and internal. Special relaxations have also been announced for certain students and schools.
