Assam Labourers Stopped at Arunachal Border Amid Stricter ILP Rules

More than 100 labourers from Assam’s Tinsukia were stopped in Sadiya while trying to enter Arunachal Pradesh due to lack of valid documents under the revised Inner Line Permit (ILP) rules.

The labourers, mostly from Talap and Dhola areas, were reportedly travelling to Lower Dibang Valley for work. The issue has created panic among workers amid ongoing protests against the new ILP guidelines in Arunachal Pradesh.

Labour leaders have urged authorities and contractors to ensure proper documentation and a transparent system to protect workers’ rights and safety.
