Assam Congress Leader Arrested in Businessman Suicide Case

Sivasagar District Congress Committee president Ajoy Gogoi has been arrested after his name allegedly appeared in a suicide note left by Charaideo businessman Avani Baruah. Police said Baruah allegedly died after consuming pesticide and named Gogoi along with Binanda Bora in the note.

An FIR was registered on May 18, leading to Gogoi’s arrest from Dimow, while Bora remains absconding. Police have launched an investigation and search operation in connection with the case registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
