Nationwide Chemists’ Strike Impacts Medicine Supply in Bongaigaon

A nationwide strike called by the All India Chemists and Druggists Association affected Bongaigaon on Thursday as retail and wholesale medicine shops remained closed across the town.

The protest, organised under the Assam Chemists and Druggists Association and supported by the Bongaigaon Chemists and Druggists Association, was held against alleged illegal online sale of medicines.

Association leaders claimed that medicines are being sold online without proper prescriptions or monitoring, posing risks to public health and affecting traditional pharmacy businesses.
