Gauhati University Organises Webinar on Anti-Dowry Awareness

Gauhati University, in collaboration with the GUNSS Cell, organised a webinar on “Anti Dowry Movement: An Awareness Campaign” to promote awareness against the dowry system and encourage gender equality.

Prof. Kamaluddin Ahmed highlighted the need for collective efforts to eliminate dowry practices, while Director of Students’ Welfare Dr Ranjan Kumar Kakati stressed the importance of awareness initiatives.

Resource person Dr Bidula Sarma discussed the social, psychological and legal aspects of dowry and urged students to contribute towards positive social change.
