Protest Erupts in Golaghat Over Missing Student Raj Kalindi

Hundreds of residents of Shaotoli Notun Mati Tea Garden in Golaghat staged a road blockade and protested outside the Khumtai police outpost on Thursday, demanding justice for missing student Raj Kalindi.

Raj has been missing since May 29 after reportedly going to bathe in the Dhansiri River with acquaintances. Protesters alleged that three individuals accompanying him were involved in his disappearance and demanded a thorough investigation and recovery of his body.

Following public pressure, police reportedly re-arrested the three suspects after initially detaining and releasing them. The investigation is ongoing.
