Poor Highway Conditions, Non-Functional Street Lights Raise Concerns at Manderdisa Toll Plaza

Residents and commuters have raised concerns over poor infrastructure along NH-27 near the Manderdisa toll plaza in Dima Hasao district. Despite regular toll collection, street lights installed nearly a decade ago remain non-functional, leaving the area in darkness and increasing accident risks, especially at night.

Locals have also complained about damaged road sections, potholes, and poor maintenance, which worsen during the rainy season. Residents and organizations have urged authorities to immediately repair the highway and make the street lights operational, questioning the justification for toll collection without adequate public safety measures.
