Assamese Short Film ‘Muga’ Selected for MIFF 2026

The Assamese short film Muga, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Samujjal Kashyap, has been selected for the prestigious Prism Section of the 19th Mumbai International Film Festival.

The film celebrates Assam’s rich Muga silk heritage and the resilience of its traditional weaving community. Produced by Trinav Entertainment, Muga has already earned several accolades, including Best Editing at the Chalachitram National Film Festival 2025 and the Jury Award for Best Film at the Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival 2025.

Its selection at MIFF 2026 marks another major achievement for the film, helping bring Assam’s cultural legacy to wider national and international audiences.
