Special Court to Hear Fresh Bail Pleas of Ex-Bodyguards in DA Case

Guwahati: A special court in Assam is set to hear fresh bail applications filed by Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora, former bodyguards of late Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, in a disproportionate assets case under investigation by the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell.
The duo approached the Special Judge’s Court after their earlier bail pleas were rejected by a fast-track court. The case involves allegations that they possessed assets beyond their known sources of income.
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, and the court will decide whether to grant them bail while the investigation continues. Authorities said the probe remains focused on the disproportionate assets allegations.
