Fake PRC Racket Suspected in Jorhat Recruitment Fraud Case

Jorhat: Authorities in Jorhat have uncovered a suspected recruitment fraud involving forged Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) and caste certificates allegedly used by candidates from outside Assam to secure jobs in central security forces.
The fraud came to light during routine document verification, when officials found that several certificates purportedly issued by the Jorhat district administration did not exist in official records. Investigators also detected fake QR codes, forged seals and signatures.
An FIR has been registered at Jorhat Sadar Police Station, and authorities suspect the involvement of an organised racket. Officials have informed the concerned recruiting agencies and launched a detailed investigation to identify those responsible.
Local groups and residents have demanded strict action, alleging that eligible Assamese youths were deprived of employment opportunities through the use of forged documents.
