Oil Tanker Seized in Suspected Liquor Smuggling Operation

Nazira: Police seized an oil tanker near Halowating on the Assam–Nagaland border during a crackdown on suspected illegal liquor smuggling.

Acting on confidential information, a team led by Nazira Co-District Police Officer Tushar Desai intercepted the tanker (AS-06-AG-1844) and suspected it contained a hidden chamber used for transporting contraband.

The vehicle has been seized and an investigation is underway. Police have intensified surveillance in the area following reports of illegal liquor smuggling from Assam to Nagaland.
