ONGC Gas Leak Brought Under Control in Nazira

Sivasagar: A gas leak from an ONGC pipeline at Silakuti Bhakat Gaon under Nazira was reported on Monday morning. ONGC officials said the affected pipeline was isolated and gas supply was stopped promptly, bringing the situation under control. Repair work is expected to be completed after the remaining gas in the pipeline is released.

Residents, however, alleged that leakage signs had been visible for months and blamed the incident on ageing pipelines. They also raised concerns over safety risks, agricultural disruptions, and the lack of compensation for previous incidents.
