50 Shops Demolished in Eviction Drive Near Guwahati Airport

Guwahati, Assam: The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration carried out an eviction drive in the Mirzapur area near Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, demolishing around 50 shops and commercial establishments allegedly built on agricultural land. Authorities said the action was taken to enforce land-use regulations, while affected traders claimed the demolition has severely impacted their livelihoods and was carried out without adequate notice.
