Elderly Woman Alleges Harassment During DMC Enforcement Drive

Dibrugarh, Assam: A 75-year-old entrepreneur has accused officials and workers of the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) of intimidation, verbal abuse, and property damage during an enforcement drive at her restaurant on June 16. The woman claimed municipal workers demolished a signboard and damaged property without adequate notice. Complaints have been filed with the DMC, police, and the Assam Human Rights Commission, while authorities are yet to respond to the allegations.
