Ri-Bhoi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday inaugurated Northeast India’s largest organic spice processing unit in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district in the presence of Chief Ministers Conrad K. Sangma and Prem Singh Tamang.
Built at a cost of around ₹32 crore, the facility can process over 10,000 metric tonnes of organic spices annually and is expected to benefit nearly 5,500 farmers. Sitharaman said the unit will boost value addition, exports and sustainable agriculture in the Northeast region.
