Two Assam Workers Among Nine Killed in Tamil Nadu Gas Leak Tragedy

Chennai: Two workers from Assam were among nine people who died after an ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing unit in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district. Most of the victims were migrant workers, while around 80 employees were affected by the incident.

The Assam workers’ identities are yet to be officially confirmed. The tragedy has once again highlighted concerns over the safety and welfare of Assamese migrant labourers working outside the state.
