CM Highlights Kokrajhar–Gelephu Rail Project as Boost to India-Bhutan Connectivity

Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said the proposed 69.05-km Kokrajhar–Gelephu railway project will strengthen India-Bhutan ties and boost trade, tourism, and regional development. Estimated at ₹3,456.36 crore, the rail link will connect Kokrajhar with Gelephu Mindfulness City, reinforcing Assam’s role in India’s Act East Policy through improved cross-border connectivity.
