African Swine Fever Outbreak Reported in Tinsukia, Pork Trade Restricted

Tinsukia, July 22: The Tinsukia district administration has declared an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Simoluguri village under Margherita Revenue Circle. Culling operations will be carried out from July 21 to 23, with a 1-km infected zone and a 10-km surveillance zone established.

As a precaution, the sale and movement of pigs and pork products have been banned across Digboi Co-District for 30 days. Authorities warned that violators will face legal action.
