Akhil Gogoi Suspended from Assam Assembly Over Flood Discussion

Raijor Dal chief and Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi was suspended from the Assam Legislative Assembly for the remainder of Thursday’s session after a heated exchange with Speaker Ranjit Kumar Dass. Gogoi had sought an urgent discussion on the severe flood situation in Upper Assam and later urged the government to declare the floods a natural calamity and seek additional central assistance.
