Two Arrested in Guwahati Over Multiple Theft Cases

Guwahati, Assam: The East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha Police Station has arrested two men allegedly wanted in connection with multiple theft cases in the city.

The accused have been identified as Gautam Ray, 21, of Bilasipara, and Likan Sarkar, 34, of Unakoti, Guwahati Police said.

During the operation, police recovered and seized around 2 kg of copper pipe and an SF Sonic battery, suspected to be stolen property.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the two accused, while further investigation is underway, police said.
