Four Injured in Assam-Arunachal Firing Incident Recovering

Four of the 11 people injured in the firing incident along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Dhemaji are recovering at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh and are reportedly out of danger.

Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said one injured person, who suffered an eye injury, has shown improvement but may need specialised treatment. The other three are receiving treatment for various injuries.

The firing reportedly followed a land ownership and encroachment dispute between residents of Assam and a group from Arunachal Pradesh. Authorities from both states have since engaged in discussions to ease the situation.
