Eviction Drive Intensified for New Saraighat Bridge

Authorities have intensified an eviction and land-clearance drive on both banks of the Brahmaputra for the proposed new Saraighat Bridge. At Pandu, more than 500 houses have been identified, with nearly 300 families already evicted as the operation continues.

The cleared land will be used for the bridge, approach roads and related infrastructure. While soil testing and technical investigations have been completed, concerns remain over the rehabilitation and relocation of affected families.
