20 Assam Youths Join Hospitality Jobs in Shirdi, Another 33 Set for Placement Near Surat

Guwahati: Twenty youths from Assam who received training in the hospitality sector at the Patkai Institute of Skill Development in Gogamukh, Dhemaji, have begun their professional journeys outside the state, with the group joining Hotel Marigold in Shirdi, Maharashtra, on August 21, 2026.

The development was announced by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Education Minister, Government of Assam, who said another batch of 33 trained youths is scheduled to join the Stone Water Resort Group near Surat, Gujarat, on September 3, 2026.

Pegu described the placements as an encouraging example of young people from Assam acquiring employable skills and finding professional opportunities beyond the state.

The minister also appreciated the efforts of the Patkai Institute of Skill Development for its role in providing skill training and facilitating employment opportunities for the youths.

Congratulating the newly placed candidates, Pegu extended his best wishes to them as they begin their professional careers.

The placements highlight the growing importance of industry-oriented skill training in helping young people access employment opportunities in different parts of the country.
