Assam Government, Primary Teachers’ Body to Hold Talks Over SRD Salary Issue

GUWAHATI: The Assam government and the Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association (ASPTA) will hold another round of talks on August 24 to resolve the uncertainty over the salary payment mechanism for teachers regularised through the Special Recruitment Drive (SRD).

The teachers’ body has demanded restoration of the earlier salary payment system instead of the SNA-SPARSH module. The meeting follows discussions with the Directorate of Elementary Education, with ASPTA hoping for a resolution to the issue.
