Fire Guts Wholesale Shop in Guwahati’s Hatigaon, Losses Estimated at Up to ₹1 Crore

Guwahati: A wholesale shop at Lakhimi Nagar in Hatigaon was gutted in a fire on Friday morning, with goods worth an estimated ₹80 lakh to ₹1 crore reportedly destroyed. The blaze broke out at a Trishakti wholesale shop opposite Uttam Bibah Bhawan, under Hatigaon Police Station.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel brought the situation under control, while a short circuit is suspected to have caused the blaze. The shop, which had reportedly been operating at the location for around 25 years, suffered extensive damage, and Hatigaon Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
