Wild Elephant Spotted with Tyre Around Neck in Golaghat

Golaghat: Residents of Bakiyal near Numaligarh were alarmed after a wild elephant entered the inhabited area with an old tyre reportedly stuck around its neck.

The elephant is believed to have come out of the nearby forest, with the unusual sighting raising concerns over possible injuries and difficulties in movement, feeding and drinking. Forest Department personnel have reached the area and are monitoring the animal while assessing a safe way to remove the tyre.
