Tezpur University Students Seek Release of Enquiry Report

Tezpur: Students and research scholars of Tezpur University have urged the Union Ministry of Education to make public the findings of a statutory enquiry into the university’s affairs. They have also sought clarity on action taken against former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh and demanded a time-bound resolution to the administrative issues.

The students raised concerns over pending funds, student welfare and the delayed convocation for the 2025 graduating batch. They warned of intensifying protests, including a possible shutdown of university activities, if their demands remain unresolved. The three-member enquiry panel, constituted in December 2025 under the Tezpur University Act, was headed by Prof. N. Lokendra Singh and included Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik and Prof. Manish R. Joshi.
