Census Houselisting Extended in Charaideo, Sivasagar Till October 31

Charaideo/Sivasagar: The houselisting and housing census phase of Census 2027 has been extended in flood-affected Charaideo and Sivasagar districts of Assam until October 31, 2026. The extension was notified by the Registrar General of India in view of disruptions caused by the flood situation.

The exercise in Assam was originally scheduled from August 17 to September 15, but census training and preparatory activities in the two districts had been suspended due to flooding. The extension will allow officials additional time to complete the houselisting process.
