Hindi Teacher Suspended in Nalbari Over Alleged Misconduct at School

Nalbari: A Hindi teacher of Milan Higher Secondary School at Banekuchi in Assam’s Nalbari district has been suspended following allegations that he was found in an inebriated condition on the school premises and allegedly misbehaved with students.

According to an order issued by the Inspector of Schools, Nalbari District Circle, on September 17, a video purportedly showing teacher Ranjit Bhatta in an allegedly intoxicated condition inside the school went viral on social media. The education department said his continued presence could affect the school environment and the preliminary inquiry, and placed him under suspension with immediate effect under Rule 6(1)(C) of the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.
