ECI Clarifies Delhi SIR Notices Do Not Mean Voter Deletion

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that notices issued to certain Delhi voters under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process do not automatically mean their names will be deleted from the electoral rolls. The notices are aimed at voters whose records could not be linked with the previous intensive revision or contain logical discrepancies.

The ECI said affected voters can submit replies and required documents to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer or Booth Level Officer. It also reiterated that deletion requires due process and an opportunity for the elector to be heard. The clarification came amid social media reports and concerns over notices issued to several prominent individuals.
