Dharapur Students’ Union Holds Candlelight Vigil Seeking Justice for Nimisha Thakuria

Guwahati: The Dharapur Students’ Union organised a candlelight vigil on Sunday to pay tribute to Gauhati University student Nimisha Thakuria and demand a fair investigation into her death at a homestay in the Garal area near Dharapur.

Participants lit candles and observed silence in memory of the 22-year-old sociology student. They called for a thorough examination of the available evidence and strict legal action against anyone found responsible. Police have detained Ashiq Ali in connection with the case, while the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nimisha’s death remains underway.
