Basistha Police Seize Suspected Heroin Worth Rs 1.5 Crore, One Arrested

Guwahati: Basistha Police arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized around 262 grams of suspected heroin during an anti-drug operation in Seuj Nagar late Saturday night. The seized contraband was estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 crore.

The accused was identified as Bhaben Pegu, a suspected drug trafficker from Dhemaji. Police recovered 19 soap boxes containing the suspected contraband from his possession. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the seized substance.
