Margherita Administration Tightens LPG Distribution Amid Shortage Complaints

The Margherita co-district administration has tightened control over the area’s lone LPG agency, which serves around 17,000 consumers, following complaints of delayed refills and pending bookings. After frustrated consumers gathered outside M/s Margherita Gas Supply on Tuesday, the administration made doorstep delivery mandatory and prohibited direct cylinder distribution from the godown and retail outlet.

The administration also conducted a crackdown on suspected black marketing and misuse of domestic LPG cylinders, reportedly seizing around 16 cylinders. A displayed pending list contained 310 consumers. The findings of the administrative exercise have been submitted to the Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner, and further action is awaited.
