Assam Cabinet Approves Land for Lovlina Borgohain’s Boxing Academy

The Assam Cabinet has approved the allocation of three bighas of land in Hudumpur village under Palasbari revenue circle to Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain for establishing a boxing academy. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the land would be allotted at a nominal price of Re 1 to support young boxers and nurture future sporting talent.

Borgohain, who won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and gold in the women’s 75kg category at the 2026 Asian Games, has also been promoted to Additional Superintendent of Police. The state government presented her with a cheque of ₹50 lakh in recognition of her Asian Games achievement.
