BJSM Raises Concern Over Alleged Occupation of Protected Tribal Land in Chirang

Chirang: The Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Manch (BJSM) has expressed concern over the alleged continued occupation of protected tribal land in Mojabari village under Sidli Revenue Circle, despite repeated representations seeking legal action. The organisation said the village was declared a tribal belt in 1947 to safeguard the land rights of eligible indigenous tribal communities.
BJSM Working President DD Narzary urged the authorities to verify the legal status of the land, investigate possible violations and take appropriate action under the law. The organisation also called for eviction proceedings against those found ineligible to occupy protected land, subject to due process and applicable court directions.
