COCOMI Rally in Imphal Demands End to SoO Agreement, Safe Return of Displaced People

Imphal: Hundreds of people from Manipur’s hill and valley communities joined a rally organised by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), demanding the termination of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement and the safe rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Demonstrators marched through the city, urging authorities to facilitate the return of displaced families to their homes.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited Sinai Camp in Kangpokpi district following a joint security operation that led to the arrest of 17 individuals accused of impersonating registered SoO cadres. Security forces seized 24 firearms, 38 magazines, ammunition, explosives and communication equipment. The Chief Minister also interacted with security personnel during the visit.
