AASU Suspends Agitation as Oil India Ltd Calls for Dialogue

The Dibrugarh and Tinsukia district units of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) have temporarily halted their agitational program against Oil India Ltd (OIL) in Duliajan. This decision came after Oil India Limited requested the organizations to lift the blockade and participate in a meeting to address concerns. AASU accused OIL of neglecting its social responsibilities, causing disruptions in oil production, mining, and transportation. The protest involved blockades at the Industrial gate, new Industrial area, and general vicinity of OIL, while the transport department was locked to prevent vehicle movement and employee access.
