AASU Warns of Public Protest Over Guwahati’s Poor Roads

Guwahati: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has warned of a fresh public protest if the Public Works Department (PWD) fails to take immediate steps to repair damaged roads across greater Guwahati. Student leaders said numerous roads and bylanes have developed potholes following the monsoon, causing daily difficulties for commuters.

AGSU general secretary Pranjal Deka said the organisation had already protested over the issue and urged authorities to complete repairs before Durga Puja. He said the student body may again take to the streets with public support if the damaged roads are not addressed.
