AASU’s Satyagraha in Barpeta Against CAA Draws Mass Support

In Barpeta district, AASU staged a ‘Satyagraha’ on Friday, vehemently protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Activists took to the streets, denouncing the legislation and criticizing the Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government. Led by Barpeta district AASU and Barpeta Anchalik AASU, the non-violent protest saw hundreds of activists rallying from ‘Swahid Bhawan’ through the main streets of Barpeta town. Organizing secretary Nayanjyoti Das cautioned the government against any harassment of AASU workers during the demonstration.
