AGP Gears Up for Panchayat Polls with Organizational Revamp

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is intensifying efforts to strengthen its base ahead of the panchayat elections, focusing on defeating the Congress. AGP vice president Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee announced a reorganization of party committees at all levels post-delimitation.

A high-level committee, led by Revenue Minister Keshab Mahanta, is overseeing preparations. Political workshops have been held across over 80 constituencies, and the party has launched an online membership drive alongside traditional methods.

AGP president Atul Bora urged observers to report membership progress. Coordination with NDA allies and leveraging the state government’s achievements remain key strategies. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will convene an NDA meeting on January 3 to discuss poll strategies and welfare programs.
