AGP to Focus on Rural Development and Alliance Strength in Panchayat Polls

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will emphasize rural development, agro-based economy, and government schemes in its panchayat poll campaign. AGP vice president Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee said a smooth seat-sharing deal with BJP will help avoid vote division. Highlighting strong governance and a fractured opposition, AGP is confident of an NDA sweep. The party, after internal consultations, decided on a formal alliance and has set up election management committees. The alliance has already secured several seats uncontested.
