AIUDF Considering Alliance with AIMIM Ahead of 2026 Assam Polls

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has hinted at a possible alliance with AIMIM and talks with Kerala’s UDF ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. Ajmal said the party plans to contest 35 seats and expects better results than Congress. Analysts say an AIUDF–AIMIM tie-up could weaken Congress in minority-dominated areas and benefit the BJP bloc.
