Ajit Bhuyan Bats for United Opposition Ahead of 2026 Assam Polls
Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Bhuyan said efforts are on to form a united opposition for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. A six-member committee is holding talks with opposition leaders. Bhuyan accused the BJP of dividing opposition forces and failing to protect indigenous rights. He criticized the state’s industrial policies, alleging land handovers to corporate houses and slammed the Advantage Assam conclave as being pro-capitalist. Bhuyan also demanded CM Sarma’s resignation over governance failures.
