Ajmal Rules Out Alliance With Congress, Demands Release of MLA Aminul Islam

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal visited jailed MLA Aminul Islam in Nagaon Central Jail and claimed his eight-month detention under the NSA was politically motivated. Ajmal said AIUDF will contest the 2026 elections alone and will not ally with Congress. He added that Islam would contest from jail if not released, expressing confidence he would win. Ajmal also said AIUDF is open to working with Asaduddin Owaisi and criticised Congress leaders, asserting Congress cannot form the government even with full Muslim support.
