Alleged Abduction Attempt Turns Violent in Guwahati’s GS Road; Accused on the Run

In a shocking incident on the night between Sunday and Monday, a youth in Guwahati allegedly attempted to forcefully abduct a young woman in the bustling GS Road area. The accused, identified as Hirakjyoti Pathak, reportedly drove a high-end four-wheeler and, after failing in the abduction, attempted to run over the victim and her friend. The violent act left both women injured.

Pathak, accompanied by a group of young men, is currently evading the police and is on the run with his car. The incident has raised concerns about women’s safety in the city. The victims have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. A complaint has been lodged at the Dispur Police Station, leading to an ongoing investigation by the police.
