Aminul Islam Joins NPP, To Contest from Mankachar

Mankachar MLA Aminul Islam has joined the National People’s Party (NPP) after resigning from AIUDF and will contest from Mankachar in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The NPP also named Daniel Langthasa (Haflong ST) and Ganseng B Sangma (Boko-Chaygaon ST) in its latest list.

Islam said his decision followed consultations with local people, citing the region’s dependence on Meghalaya and the need for regional political support.

His move reflects ongoing defections and shifting alliances ahead of the polls.
