An initiative to improve the skills of zookeepers in Guwahati city
From December 18 to 20, the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi, organised a Zookeeper Training Programme for North Eastern Zoos at the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden with the goal of improving zookeepers’ abilities and knowledge for the welfare and care of zoo captives.
The programme for zookeepers involved a total of twenty-four dedicated keeper from eleven different zoos namely, Biological Park, Itanagar, Bijni Deer Park, Kokrajhar, Nagaland Zoological Park, Dimapur, Himalayan Zoological Park, Sikkim, National Zoological Park, New Delhi, Khasi Hills Wildlife Division, Shillong, Sipahijala Zoological Park, Tripura, Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve, Miao, WTI, Manas, CWRC, and Assam State Zoo, Guwahati, participated in this Zookeeper Training Programme.
