APCC Considers Legal Action Over ISI Allegations Against Gaurav Gogoi
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is exploring legal action against claims linking Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi and his wife to Pakistan’s ISI. Gogoi dismissed the accusations as politically motivated, alleging Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was using smear tactics ahead of elections.
APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah also condemned the claims, calling them an attempt to tarnish Gogoi’s image. Meanwhile, Assam CID has registered a case against Pakistan-based Ali Tauqeer Sheikh following a cabinet directive, with a Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the matter.
