APSC Scam Inquiry Report Faces Legal Challenge in Gauhati High Court

A citizens’ forum has warned that the Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission report on the APSC exam scam may be set aside due to alleged lapses by the Assam government. The matter is under challenge before the Gauhati High Court, where suspended officers have sought quashing of the report, claiming denial of due process.

The forum alleged weak legal defence by the state and failure to submit an action-taken report, which the court has noted is essential for legal validity. It cautioned that setting aside the report would undermine accountability in what is considered one of Assam’s biggest recruitment scams.
