Areca Nut-Laden Vehicle Hijacked on NH17

A Tata Intra carrying 48 bags of areca nuts was hijacked by miscreants at Bondapara on NH17 around 2 am. The attackers, arriving in two vehicles, overpowered the driver and businessman, blindfolded them, and took them away. They were later released near Kompadoli along the Assam-Meghalaya border. The miscreants stole ₹62,000 and their mobile phones. Boko Police have launched an operation to catch the culprits and recover the vehicle.
